Restaurants in Singapore

This place is a must try as Canele is part of the Les Amis group and their chef is native France Christophe Grillo, a culinary virtuoso has conquered the kitchens of prestigious hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, including Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, and the acclaimed restaurant Spoon in Hong Kong. For more information, do check Canele out!

Aston is a place where affordable and quality food comes together. I'm always up for reasonably priced food and here it is! For more information, do check Astons out!

Spruce Restaurant looks nice and the menu looks delicious already. I'm dying to try this place out as there were many positive reviews on this place. For more information, check SPRUCE out!

Top on my list is CUT by Wolfgang Puck. Honestly, if you don't know who he is, you need to stop being so ignorant. I don't know how to cook, and yet, Gosh!!! Anyways, in a nut shell, he is a celebrity chef, actor and owner of award winning restaurants. He is known as "The Greatest Chef In The World" and a 3 course meal here will costs roughly 300SGD per person more or less. CUT has branches in beverly Hills and Las Vegas.
High Society is a record label founded by That CD Shop, Singapore and this place is perfect for hi teas, or light meals. Didn't have time to try it out, but it's definitely on my MUST TRY list for the next visit.
Daniel Boulud is much known because his cooking show After Hours with Daniel on AFC. He's the owner of many Michelin 3 Star restaurants and also one The Great Chefs.

Tamarind Springs, Ampang

I'm a dessert person and I love this Zucotto. The heart shaped cookie was delighfully buttery and when you slice on the cake, it has a combination of ice cream and some nutty ice cream and it was absolutely delicious.

What can I say about Tamarind Springs? Well, it's just a damn bloody romantic place to wine and dine with your loved ones. The location is really convenient for the beautiful breathe taking view and environment. I've always been in love with lush greenery and Balinese concepts. I really loved this place.

Since it was The BF's birthday, decided to take him here as a treat because I had assignments due and we couldn't go for a holiday. He's fine with it as I spent 400MYR here on dinner. This place is really romantic and we got a table overlooking the gardens and the golf club.

Food was good as well but would be better if the food was served piping hot. We ordered the Chicken And Coconut Soup (28MYR) which tasted like tom yum but just the sourness of the tom yum. This dis was served piping hot and filled with huge chunks of chicken meat.

The we ordered SeaBass with Spicy Sauce (85MYR) which the BF loved as he loves spicy dishes. Too bad that it served at room temperature. Then, as a treat and I'm a lobster fan, we ordered River Lobsters (32 Per Piece) which I loved. These are smaller than normal Lobsters but it was fresh and packed a punch.

We had vege and tofu stir fried (26MYR), Rice (10MYR), Pellegrino (24MYR), 2 Long Islands (56MYR) and 2 Zucotto (48MYR) and with service charge (34.10MYR) and 6% Tax (20.46MYR), the bill came up to 395.55MYR for the both of us.

Took some pictures and decided that it was a nice place to celebrate his birthday.

Ben's, KLCC.

I had the Peking Duck Roll(22.9MYR). I had a similiar Peking Duck Roll in China two years back and I've been craving for it ever since. Except that it was called Dragon Roll and it was from KFC (Shanghai & West Lake) Well, this was a more stylish "Dragon Roll" (obviously!) and I loved it. The sauce and everything was like the authentic Peking Duck, except that the duck was a tad dry for my liking.

The BF had this Golden Soft Shell Crab Pasta (21.9MYR + 6MYR) because I insisted and I wanted to try. He added chargrilled chicken to it. The silly boy didn't even know he was having crabs and he's just too cute that way! I liked it because it was spicy and very delicious.

Last Friday, I dropped my friend at KLCC and met The BF there. As he was rushing to go home to do some chores, we managed a quick lunch at a place I've been dying to try, Ben's.

I've been reading about all the positive reviews and I was dying to try it out! Wanted to try the one at Pavillion but since I somehow ended up in KLCC, might as well. I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere was very rustic and relaxing.

Met a fellow Panda Ambassador friend that was visiting Malaysia at Ben's and she loved the food here!

I was sickly so, I ordered a simple Grilled Pesto Chicken (25.90MYR) which was unique because they used Avocado Feta Mash with a grilled chicken breast on a multigrain bun. Super delicious!!!

Ben's is the perfect place to catch up, good food, great ambiance and prompt service.

Ole Ole Bali, Empire Gallery

Me and Dr. Eunice decided to try out Ole Ole Bali at Empire Gallery and it did not disappoint. It was more or less like Bumbu Bali in terms of the deco but the food is definitely waaaay more delicious than Bumbu Bali (Maybe because we're hungry?)

We both had the Nasi Campur (Mixed Rice) and this is not your ordinary Malay or Chinese Mixed rice, no.... It has these lightly grilled Calamaries that are grilled to perfection and not over cooked and chewy but the only thing missing was a lemon wedge.

The fish was tenderly grilled as well and tastes fresh and the satay lilit was the bom!!! It's a very thin layer of chicken meat "lilit" around a lemongrass stem and grilled to perfection.

The deco helps as well to set an ambiance with soft Balinese music playing in the background. I love this place and the food here plus taxes and water cost around 40MYR.

Toast

For the perfect, wholesome toast, I use this bread from Lavender, 1 Utama. Cranberry and Pumpkin Seed Bread (I think!)
This is a sample of my lunch. Sunny Side Up Egg, 2 fish Fingers and Lightly Buttered and Toasted Bun with Bacon on top.
This is breakfast and it's super easy and fast. Oh, delicious and healthy to!!! I normally "toast" the bread in the oven so, I throw a few slices of baby back bacon in there so I don't have to use the oil to fry it. Healthy, right?

Potatoes Anna

Found this recipe in a very old book on Potatoes.

INGREDIENTS:
4 Potatoes Sliced
Stick of Melted Butter
Salt
Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Butter the 9" baking dish
2) Arrange the potatoes layer after layer
3) Brush butter
4) Sprinkle the Salt and Pepper
5) Repeat steps
6) Finish steps with a buttered top

I like to switch it up by grilling some fish fillet and topping it off with potatoes Anna.
