The Tea Republic, BSC, Bangsar

For tea, we went a place where plants grow in a tea cup, little wooden deck tables and chairs dot the dainty little space and where tea comes in all forms possible! Can you guess where we are? No? Yes?

We are at the one and only THE TEA REPUBLIC in bsc, Bangsar!!! It's like the indoor, Parisienne al fresco little cafe but we would call it a tea cafe!

I like my tea very flavourful and minty. So, we ordered a pot of Red Flower. It is really amazing, when they served the pot to us, the flower was all limp...

After 5 minutes of brewing, the flower "blossomed" and it's sweet, florally, citrus-y and very minty! Just the way I like it! Beautiful show too. A pot of tea, refillable multiple times is about 16MYR.

The Sister loved their Banoffee Pie (6.90MYR) and she said that it was delicious!!! Well, it is but I'm not a fan or the slivered/sliced nuts all over it!

I wanted to have the rainbow cake but The Sister said that it wasn't very nice so, I settled for the Moist chocolate Cake (6.90MYR) and it wasn't MOIST at all. It was dry. And I didn't like it. Those chilled Silverbird Chocolate Pound Cake tastes soooo much better!!! Very disappointed.

Girls like us, can't always be drinking. Hence, we decided to be more classy and drink tea instead! That was why we had our little tea party!

The tea on the other hand, was seriously good. You can find a huge array of teas in all shapes and sizes and the teas here are really pretty. Even though the shop is a little quaint corner shop, I think that it is the perfect place for tea.

Come, and join us in our little tea party next time! Ciao. Oh, before I go, for more information, do check thetearepublic out. You'll love it!

Till the next time!

Instant Nutella Cupcakes

I have a knack for trying out recipes from the internet. Or Facebook, for that matter. The recipe was super simple and I technically had all the required ingredients, so, why not give it a try?

I'm very skeptical with what I read because, come on, I teach Critical Thinking and the most important lesson is, NEVER BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ ON THE INTERNET.

So, I gave this recipe a try and not expect anything. Surprisingly, they turned out very well. Especially when its fresh out of the oven!

So, I would recommend you guys to give this a try. But, maybe I put too much flour that it became quite hard the next day...

This recipe is legit.

Dinner at Frontera

One Sunday, The Sister called and asked if I had any dinner plans, She was craving for tacos from Frontera. I never really had Frontera before so, I brought The Fiance along.

The Fiance had lots of fun playing with his toy taking pictures of food, etc... He enjoys food that are very spicy and he ordered the spiciest wings on the menu!

I had the chicken breast burger and DAMN!!! It was delicious!!! One would expect it to be hard and the meat really tough, but the chicken breast was bursting with flavors, juicy and succulent! I really enjoyed this, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Fiance had the spiciest wings on the menu and this was how the fun started. The wings was too spicy that The Fiance couldn't even eat it and The Sister had to marinate the wings in ketchup and the "white sauce"

The Sister had her usual Chicken and Fish Tacos. I took a bite off the fish taco and it was absolutely delicious!!!

Just a lovely picture of us, chilling, having fun and just enjoying each other's company.

The Sister "marinated" her piece of chicken in ketchup and white sauce because the wings was just too spicy!!!

The Fiance couldn't even eat the wings and the Frontera staff was nice enough to bring it back to the kitchen and make it less spicy for us. This is the less spicy wings! You know what? The Fiance mentioned that somehow, he's craving the same wings from Frontera.

Trying the wings, The heat doesn't come right away, you need to wait for a few minutes before it hits you so hard like a sucker punch! But, bear in mind, it tastes delicious if it wasn't so spicy!

The Sister cooling it off with icy cold water and no, it doesn't help at all. Oh, her marinate, doesn't help one bit!

Describing her "ordeal" but she seems happy and by the end of the evening, we're all so happy!!!

In conclusion, don't order the spiciest wings, order the level before the spiciest level. This is my first time eating here and I'm very pleased with the place.

The environment is comfy and reminiscent of a pequeno restaurante espanol... The staff are very helpful and friendly and they have HAPPY HOUR!!!

Looks like we're gonna be back here this weekend!

A Slice Of Heaven, Jaya One

I had the Death By Chocolate and Red Velvet, 2 of the best sellers at A Slice Of Heaven. Read so many positive reviews on the place, I was peer pressured to try!

Death by chocolate was about 9.80MYR (If I'm not mistaken!) for a little blob. Oh, if you like it, it comes in 1KG or more as well! So, I decided to try!

The texture was very mousse like with a thin layer of cake and covered in a delicious, chocolatey layer. Surprisingly, Madrekins loved this as well. I'm just OK with it, Epicurean makes better ones. But of course, this is good in it's own way. I don't really like it because it's too sweet. I love my chocolate bitter so....

This lovely thing is the Red Velvet. It's like the cutest thing. I'm not a huge fan of Red Velvet but since it was one of the best sellers, I decided to try it.

The cake is surprisingly soft and fluffy, I've had a few Red Velvet which was a bit on the hard side and that was one of the reasons why I dislike Red Velvet and I think that its overrated. This one however, proved me wrong and it turned out to be the best Red Velvet I've tasted. Super delicious. Soft and fluffy and if eaten with those little white creamy clouds, its creamy and cheesy! Highly recommended.

You can check their website out A Slice of Heaven by Just Heavenly, You can find the whole range of their cakes and even baking classes!

Jaya One: Chilli Rush, Frontera

Decided to take Madrekins around Jaya One to try the food! The Sister brought me to Frontera for tacos and I've been craving tacos since! Their tacos are seriously addictive. I love the Baja Fish Tacos (Soft)

This was taken a few days before I brought Madrekins there because the whole Game Dev department celebrated Nick (Our Colleague) birthday there. It was a double kill because it was supposed to be my initiation "ceremony" as well. Any new staff in Game Dev has to eat Level 10 wings! LOL! My colleague, Ivan had Level 5 and to prepare for Level 10, we ordered Level 7 to dip our toes in. Yes, it was seriously spicy and I could eat spicy food. But, it was goooood!!!!

The many levels of hot wings. If you want to be immortalised on their wall of honour, go for a Level 12 wings!!!

Madrekins only managed a mere Level 4. Well, i think it's good cause she can't take spicy food!

She SEEMS to be enjoying her food, until she decided to marinate the spicy chicken in salad sauce in hope to reduce the spicyness.

You can find Frontera and Chilli Rush easily!
